Packed with stunning photography and entertaining stories, it will make you want to grab your bike and hit the road. Covid Until the Corona pandemic is over, we will delay publishing the next edition of Bicycle Traveler. The magazine is meant to inspire people to go out and see the world by pedal power. But at this time, riding across borders is ill advised. Plus, it’s difficult for cyclists to plan trips when an end to the pandemic isn’t in sight. Attention English cyclists! If you’re dreaming of an adventure by bike, check out the Cycle Touring Festival , taking place from 3-5 May, 2024 in Coniston, Cumbria, England. Whether you’re planning a single night away, or want to head off for several months (or years), you’ll find a warm welcome. The event aims to inspire and educate people to undertake journeys by bike, with talks, workshops, films and practical advice to equip you to get on the road. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never changed a tyre before, or if you’re a professional frame builder – you’ll find a home in the CTF tribe. Started in 2015 by round-the-world cyclist Laura Moss, the festival brings together cyclists of all types, from experienced veterans to those who have never put up a tent before. It is a not-for-profit event, run by volunteers, and the focus is on building the cycle touring and bikepacking community. You won’t find rows of stalls trying to sell you stuff you don’t need: instead, the focus is on stories from the road and practical advice to inspire and equip you to do your own bike trip. Regular tickets include two nights camping, all talks and dinner on Saturday evening. Day tickets are also available. The festival is run as a not-for-profit event, to keep prices as low as possible. The people behind it Grace Johnson is the founding editor and designer of Bicycle Traveler magazine. Photographer Paul Jeurissen runs the website and his cycle touring and bicycle culture images regularly appear in the publication. They met on the Trans America bicycle trail in 1981 and since then have taken numerous bike trips, totaling more than 9 years over 5 continents.
